Description
The VP of People serves as a strategic business partner, culture architect, and operational leader. This role is responsible for driving a future-forward people strategy that scales with the business, aligns with our mission and values, and fuels performance, retention, and innovation.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the VP of People will lead high-impact initiatives across employee experience, DEIB, organizational development, and people operations. This individual will play a pivotal role in connecting our employee experience to business results, advising C-level leaders, building programs that grow leadership capability, and championing a thriving and inclusive culture.
Roles & Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Strategic Partnership
- Serve as a thought partner to the CPO and executive leadership to influence and drive enterprise-wide people strategy.
- Translate business objectives into talent strategies that support scalability, agility, and innovation across all departments.
- Lead strategic workforce planning, succession, and organizational design efforts to support business growth and transformation.
- Use data and insights to proactively guide decision-making, anticipating challenges and opportunities for talent optimization.
Organizational Development, Talent Management & Performance
- Drive a values-aligned culture that fosters high performance, accountability, and belonging.
- Own and evolve company-wide performance management systems to support growth, feedback, and clear career pathways.
- Lead the design and execution of company-wide learning and leadership development programs that build capability at all levels.
- Serve as a champion and enabler for DEIB strategy, ensuring equity is embedded across policies, processes, and programs.
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle experience onboarding, engagement, retention, development, and offboarding with a people-first, inclusive lens.
- Leverage employee feedback and engagement data to inform and adapt strategy, with clear ownership of action planning.
- Build communications and programs that promote community, culture, and connection.
Total Rewards, Operations & Compliance
- Lead the People Ops function to ensure compliance, consistency, and efficiency in HR systems, tools, and processes.
- Strengthen reporting and analytics to track progress on hiring, attrition, representation, and performance across teams.
- Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support compensation philosophy execution and partner with Finance and Operations on headcount planning and budgeting.
- Oversee the design, administration, and optimization of employee benefits and total rewards programs to ensure competitiveness, equity, and alignment with organizational goals.
Career Development
- Contribute to leading a high-performing People Team that reflects Betches’ values and vision.
- Model inclusive leadership and collaboration, empowering team members to innovate and grow.
- Establish team goals, KPIs, and reporting structures that align with company-wide objectives.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including people management and experience working with senior stakeholders in high-growth environments.
- Proven experience operating as a strategic advisor to the C-Suite with strong business acumen.
- Expertise across organizational development, DEIB strategy, change management, talent planning, and employee relations.
- Experience scaling people programs in a fast-paced, creative or media-oriented environment.
- Deep understanding of the employee lifecycle and ability to build equitable and inclusive processes at every stage.
- Strong analytical mindset with comfort in data interpretation and storytelling.
- Executive presence with exceptional communication, influence, and conflict resolution skills.
- A builder and systems thinker who can operate both strategically and tactically.
Compensation
The expected annual base salary for this role is $180,000 - $200,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors such as location are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation and offer package will include the following perks below.
